Turns out shoes can GIVE HOPE!
Stopping to give our time for others gives our fast paced days purpose. Let’s give hope + share our talents to bring a SMILE to a little one’s day.
I want to share a little bit today on the simple joys in life.
In my personal life, I’ve been trying to hone in on the simple things that make me happy, and the things I’m grateful for.
I did my 12 Days of Christmas giveaway to spread a little holiday cheer, and today, I want to focus on one last piece of joy to finish out the year.
The perfect kind of joy; the kind that comes from giving hope to others. I have been promoting a community event that is coming up soon at my church. It benefits the organization Sole Hope. Sole Hope is an amazing program that is seeking to minimize illnesses that are contracted through the skin of the feet in impoverished countries.
Many of the volunteers focus their work in Uganda, and distribute shoes that are made from recycled jeans. Do you have an old pair of jeans laying around that can be turned into shoes?
That’s an EASY way to give hope!
To benefit this organization, I have been asking my social media followers to save their old jeans that are used to make these shoes.
As I’ve read more and more about the important work they’re doing, I loved what I saw. Sole Hope empowers women in the areas (making the shoes), and helping young children combat disease at the same time.
I’m so excited for this event, and am hoping to get the support of the community. You can help too by cutting the shoe patterns from the old jeans I collect. A lot of small differences can build up to make a REAL IMPACT + DIFFERENCE.
We all have the power to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Cheers & Sparkles
