My chip goal

Let’s do it together this January! It’s the time of new beginnings, and I have a little challenge for you. I am testing this out on my tween + teen for 2017 and thought I’d invite you along, and see if we can make your 2017 a little bit more awesome!

How many of us have set January goals…

Only to make it to March, maybe June before we forget, give up, or just plain don’t care any more? I’m totally guilty of giving up too soon.

After reading a few books + sitting on a long flight brainstorming blog ideas, I decided I’m tired of throwing in the towel to my annual goals. For 2017, I am bringing my kiddos along {possibly kicking and screaming} and also asking you to join in too and help us ALL succeed for 2017.

Here’s the deal. Instead of setting a blanket, year-long (unrealistic) goal, we’re going to shake it up and try a new system to help us succeed for the ENTIRE year!

Each month I am going to switch up the goal to focus on so when we reach the last day of January or June or November, we can shout from the rafters,

“BAM, I did it!”

We don’t have to change the world, just our little piece of it. And to put a little science behind it – we are more likely to stick with it when we are accountable to someone.

This is where the, let’s do it together comes into the success equation.

I hope you’ll post your successes and questions, ask for ideas from others and motivate all of us to be just a little bit better than we were yesterday.

Some months may be crazier than others, so if you miss a month PLEASE don’t throw in the towel – pick it back up the next month.

We’re not going for perfect – we’re going for better!

Your chapter is going to look very different from my chapter. If you’re in high school, you won’t have the same idea of success as me in my ahem, 40-something’s. That’s part of the fun people. And middle schoolers, we know you won’t have the same ideas as a senior, but they may be able to help you out, give ideas or motivation, or a little push to jump out of your comfort zone.

JUST TRY!

Tag your friends on IG to join in!
Tag your Mom on FB to bring in her ideas!
Join the SMP email list to chime in there – whatever is easiest for you – but let’s do this TOGETHER.

I know I need a tribe to succeed in things + I sincerely hope you will help me succeed each month.

Okay, enough blabbing? Let’s do this!

Month One:: Set 1 health goal
I am not here to break the mold and January is traditionally the time everyone returns to the gym.

Instead of pushing ourselves to lose 30 pounds, don’t eat any sugar, or
go to the gym 6 days a week, Just pick ONE thing to help your health,

JUST ONE.

It can be exercise, food, meditation, yoga…but set one goal to improve your health and write it down.

  • Put it on a post it on your bathroom mirror
  • Post it to your class binder
  • Make it your phone/tablet screen saver
  • Next to your alarm clock to see every morning

So did you see that photo at the top?

This month…I’m focusing on chips – yep, potato chips. They have always been my weakness. I can go all day and push them away only to lose the battle in my late night editing at the computer – ugghhhhh!

This will be my No Chip January…A few on the weekend’s never hurt however. And those who know me well, know when it’s Seahawks playoff time, I’ll have some celebratory chips & salsa for their win!

Your turn, What is your 1 health goal in January?

Let’s do this!

Cheers & Sparkles

We absolutely love your blog and find a lot of your post’s to be just what I’m looking for. Do you offer guest writers to write content to suit your needs? I wouldn’t mind composing a post or elaborating on a lot of the subjects you write related to here. Again, awesome website!ReplyCancel
