This year’s Mother’s Day gift guide is filled with mostly local + shopping small for Mom. Let’s support businesses that feature beautiful items and services.
Struggling to know what to give the lovely mom in your life this year?
Here’s our top five ideas::
1/ Did you know we have gift certificates at Shining Moments Photography?
I know, it might seem a shameless plug, but photos really do make an amazing gift. Moms sometimes put their own desires last on the list…You’d be surprised how many moms love a family session, or a couple’s session (or surprise her and book your own session with your siblings and present her with a finished product!)
A gift card to her favorite local restaurant is a yummy treat too.
2/ Shop in Style::
If you haven’t stopped by this cute little boutique in Sycamore, add it to your to-do list. It’s owned by two sweet sisters, and they have curated an amazing selection of affordable items, like chic clothes, shoes, quality handbags, and jewelry.
There are styles for every age range and style, which means you may snag something for mom…and yourself (Shhhh, I won’t tell!). My street team showcases items from there in the Spring and Fall. You could also take mom on a shopping spree and add in quality time together!
3/ Polka Dot Bakery::
Yummy baked treats are a fun way to tell mom how much she’s loved! Look at these delectable little goodies…those flower cookies would be so cute wrapped up with a few other of mom’s favorite things like soap or lotion!
4/ Nats on Maple ::
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Sycamore. It has a relaxed but classy atmosphere, and a menu that has some tasty offerings like their Warm Duck Salad or Cedar Plank Salmon. We bet mom would love their Citrus Shrimp Pasta, too. After all, what mom wouldn’t like a night off from cooking dinner?!
5/ And lastly, Coffee!::
Yep, there are plenty of places to find local, good coffee. You know me, you know I love my coffee and tea.
A gift card is always a nice choice, but a hand-delivered drink with flowers and a heartfelt card is a surefire way to melt mom’s heart, too.
