Spring 2021 Fashion Trends | Savvy V. Splurge

The Spring 2021 fashion trends are shining in every boutique + computer screen window. I know, there is SO MUCH out there that we kinda get overwhelmed right?

I’m not an influencer, or a boutique owner, but I do love helping you plan for your session! {And it’s good retail therapy for me.}

You also might know that I specialize in High School Senior Photography + Professional Headshots.

And that’s why I’m sharing these Spring 2021 fashion trends with you today.

It’s one more way I can make your photo session easy + FUN.

So let’s break it down in a shop small kind of style this season.

While we’ve been hibernating here in Northern Illinois there’s been plenty of time to gather new Spring 2021 fashion trends to share with you.

Oh, and if this is your first time on the SMP Blog…

First, “I’m glad you’re peeking by!”

Second, This is one of my seasonal posts to help you shop for your everyday, casual Friday, high school senior pictures, or your branding headshots + portfolio shoot.

If you’re like me and don’t bring out the sundress or shorts until July, you might have the need for my Savvy V. Splurge Winter post.

I’ve been searching for cute Spring 2021 styles for both early Spring, chilly 50-ish-degree days + the almost Summer, but hasn’t reached 75-degree days.

Howeverrrr, if the Chicago wind is blowing on that 75-degree day, I still need a jacket. Are you with me on that one?

A short Plaid Jacket was the first find

Just in case you too get chilled until it hits 80-degrees, you’re going to loooooooove the short, plaid jacket I bought from Six + Cypress Boutique in Batavia, Illinois. This one I’m adding to the Savvy category because I happened upon it when it was on sale in their boutique. My silver lining to always being cold. Everyone else is looking at the t-shirts + tank tops and I’m still shopping for jackets.

Yes, you can change the style of jeans. And, yessssssss, I bought a pair of jeans I said I’d never go back too! {I knew NEVER say, “never”. I always regret it.}

But hear me out on why I got into those said bell-bottoms.

I went into SIS Shop in Style {this one is in Sycamore, Illinois}, to look for a light-weight Spring sweater. I always love their jean collections too, so as I was peeking through, Michelle, one of the sweet owners, showed me the pair of pull-on, soft, bell-bottoms by CELLO.

spring 2021 fashion trends, sycamore Illinois, high school senior photographer,

Did you catch that pull-on part?

It may seem strange, but the elastic waist hugged perfectly. NO GAPPING! And ladies, am I right?… When there is no gapping or belt needed…

We buy-em!

With my vertically-challenged legs I’ll be pairing them with heels or booties. But all my taller, longer-legged, friends can throw on a graphic T + sandals and walk out into the sun-filled Spring day! This pair also dips under the savvy shopping side too at $56.

The second pair are cropped + faded. The faded color jeans are making a surge back into Spring trends too. These cropped, cut-off splurge jeans are my new fav with the color + hem.

SMP TIP:: High waisted + short or cropped jeans give our legs a longer appearance.

Brian is always teasing me about my ripped or un-hemmed jeans, but they’re my favorite right now.

We have a few clothing ideas, now let’s pivot to the accessories.

Who likes hats?

I found a cute hat + necklace + slip-on sneakers from UOI Boutique in Sterling, Illinois. {they also have an online shop.}

Hats look adorable + they are great props in a high school senior shoot!

Add sunglasses and some shiny on your wrist, neck, or fingers and you’re all set. The UOI necklace you see is a 3-in-1 piece for a great layering look.

Bring on all the sunny warm days.

I have my Spring model shoot coming up next week to show you a few more ideas…Think the UOI hat + blue polka dot sundress from Mad Jade, They have other adorable pieces that can be styled up SO CUTE for your high school senior session, like this skirt in plaid.

Mix it with a light sweater and you have outfit #1 ready to go! The style head-to-toe they matched up is cute on their site too.

Keep an eye on my Instagram for more style ideas + my model shoot ideas!

I don’t work for any of these cute boutiques, but I love to shop small when I can, being a small biz myself. I love talking style for the Spring 2021 fashion trends, or every season really.

If you’re looking for more style ideas I have plenty coming to you all the time::

When you’re ready to plan out your high school senior story session I’m right here waiting to help!
