Beauty With a Purpose | Senior Photography

Thrive Causemetics made their manifesto, Beauty with a Purpose. They’re a beauty brand with a Cause that goes beyond skin deep.

I came across Thrive Causemetics through an instagram ad awhile back. I know, most of us don’t want our Insta feed being cluttered with ads, and I’m with ya.

But, as a small business owner I see their side too. Sometimes we have to use ads on social to get our business out there.

This ad stopped my scrolling for 3 reasons::

  • They showcased great images {ya know I’m a sucker for those}
  • I wanted to know more of what, “Beauty with a Purpose” meant
  • Being a Senior + Headshot photographer we use makeup {always looking at new products}

None of us want to throw our money out the window without finding out more right?

I researched + asked around on my Facebook + Instagram pages in case anyone used their products, but it looks like they are pretty new to the makeup scene so I had to try them for myself.

LOVED THE STORY!

They are a one-for-one company {when you purchase a product they give one to a female cancer patient}

I ordered the mascara + brow highlighter. The mascara separates my lashes + thickens with no clumps. It doesn’t bleed and is comes off far easier than my last mascara.

When your photographing close-ups in headshots the eye lashes make an eye-poping difference! {A little tip if you don’t have your makeup professionally applied for your headshots}.

If I could only apply their eye looks the way they show in their Instagram photos. #makeuplessons I can’t blame them because eye shadow has been my nemeses since the opening chapter of my makeup days.

Getting makeup picture perfect for your senior pictures or headshots is SO IMPORTANT!

Yes, even if you wear a little to no makeup as your everyday look, a polished finish makes a BIG difference in your portraits. So if you apply your makeup be sure to wear quality makeup.

My article on “Camera Ready Makeup” guides you through important steps for applying your makeup for your portrait session if you’re not having it applied by a makeup artist.
